Hellier, the leading provider of Nondestructive Testing training, currently has openings for the position of Instructor at our Niantic, CT office for NDT Level II or III professionals experienced in the areas of training, consulting, and providing customer service.
General Summary
Hellier instructors instruct, test, and certify trainees as appropriate by applying their nondestructive testing / consulting experience to a classroom / lab setting.
Responsibilities
Develop, revise and teach a range of technical and non-technical topics that cover the methods of Nondestructive Testing.
Consult with clients in the training and development of NDT procedures and Written Practices
Development and administration of examinations to be used for certification, grading and reporting of results
Overall classroom management
There will be some travel with this position - relocation may be required
Requirements
Certified NDT Level III's in several methods or Level II with 5 years experience as an NDT or Welding instructor
Minimum 5 years hands-on field experience as a Level II
Ability to teach classes in three or more of the following methods -Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Radiography and Visual Testing
Familiar with NAS 410 and SNT-TC-1A requirements as well as other industry codes and inspection specifications
Familiar with various types of military and commercial codes and specifications
Proficient with computer applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a must
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential
The following skills are not required but are highly desirable
Current ASNT Level III certification
Experience in the development of classroom curriculum and outlines
Experience as an instructor
Ability to teach advanced methods such as UT Detection and Sizing, Phased Array, Digital/Computed RT, etc..
Minimum of an Associate Degree in manufacturing, technical science or equivalent
