HELLIER NDT News and EventsManagement Training Program to be Presented at 2008 Annual NDTMA Conference.

The third module of the management training program will be presented on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the 2008 Annual NDTMA Conference in Las Vegas, NV.

This training program was developed by Chuck Hellier and Jim Treat under the auspices of NDTMA. This three-module program covers a wide variety of management and leadership techniques and principles. It has been well established that good managers need to be provided with the tools and knowledge if they are to be effective in dealing with the people side of any business. This program was designed to address this need.

This is the third part of a three-part program. The management training program is designed to present relevant management topics to personnel who are currently in management positions and for those who aspire to become managers and leaders.

While it will address effective management approaches for the NDT industry, it applies to other technical disciplines as well.

The program began with a half-day introductory session in 2005, followed by three full-day sessions, each in conjunction with an annual NDMTA Conference starting in 2006 and concluding in 2008. As currently envisioned, the three-year cycle will be repeated starting in 2009. The introductory seminar in 2005 was open to all annual conference attendees. Attendance at subsequent modules is by registration on a fee basis.

The registration fee for NDTMA member companies is $99, which will include lunch and free registration for the conference (this will be in addition to the 2 free registrations each member company receives.) For non-NDTMA members, the fee is $179. Registrants from non-member companies do NOT receive free registration for the Tuesday through Thursday NDTMA conference.

A certificate of attendance will be presented to individuals who attend each one-day seminar. For those individuals attending the three full-day seminars and successfully completing the assigned program exercises in all three modules, a Certificate of Completion of the NDTMA Management Training Program will be awarded.
